Mat Sandifer (pronouns he/him/his) has been a member of North Carolina’s Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder professional community since 1992. Mat earned a Master of Social Work degree from UNCG and NCA&T. As a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addictions Professional, and Certified Supervisor Intern; Mat founded and is the Director of Clinical Services at New Vision Therapy, PLLC, with offices in Greensboro and Reidsville, NC. Mat established New Vision Therapy with a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive place for those seeking therapeutic support. Mat was appointed to the Guilford County Board of Mental Health, and served the Client’s Rights Committee for Guilford County. For the last five years, Mat served as the Vice President for the North Central Region of Addiction Professionals (APNC) of North Carolina, currently serves as an at large member on the APNC Board of Directors and is presently Vice President for the South Eastern Region of NAADAC. Mat serves as the co-chair on APNC’s Social Justice Committee dedicated to ensuring that APNC is increasingly inclusive and diverse in membership and for those needing professional services. As an advocate for substance abuse treatment, Mat is a founding member of CURE Triad, a coalition of public safety, public health, public education, healthcare, substance use disorder providers and community advocates.
